The joint project between CalHR, the State Personnel Board and the Department of Rehabilitation wrapped up a one-year project on developing recommendations to increase the employment of person with disabilities in California state government.
The State Personnel Board (SPB) held its annual organizational meeting in San Francisco on Thursday, Dec.3, 2015. Board members voted to reelect Kimiko Burton as board president, Lauri Shanahan as board vice president, and Richard Costigan as the SPB’s representative to CalPERS.

In January, we plan to debut the new CalCareer system for job applicants but we are seeking user feedback today and tomorrow until 3 p.m. Come to 1810 16th Street (near R Street), Sacramento any time today until 3 p.m. Tomorrow (Tuesday) you can come check it out anytime between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. in 45 minutes you can learn how to log in and start the job application process in about 45 minutes. The system goes live in January but you may be better prepared for your new career in state service if you check out our new system now.

Job information in Sacramento: SPB partnered with CalHR and more than a dozen other state departments as well as the Assemblymember Jim Cooper and state Sen. Richard Pan to sponsor a job fair at Sacramento City College on Nov. 12. SPB and CalHR will participate in future job fairs around the state.
