When I met JoJo at Argonaut Park, he was an innocent young man of 13 years old. I watched as he grew into a tall young man with great potential and put him to work doing some small jobs with me. He was eager, punctual and a fast learner. At times he seemed quiet and kept to himself. After his accident in his grandmother’s car, he had to heal before going back to work. I just got him to get his work permit from school in March 2020 and we worked out a plan for him to live in his aunt’s house and work part time at H1 Drilling Company. Everything was going well and I was teaching him as my apprentice. Hearing of his violent fall on the mean streets of Old Sacramento crushed me.
