Good Morning Facebook friends!

We are in need of your help today as we are working with a young lady that will be having a baby boy in one month and has nothing that she needs as of today.

Please let us know if you can help us bless this momma with anything from a pack of diapers (newborn, size 1 or size 2), washcloths, clothes, a bassinet or maybe something for the new mom to show her that she is loved and has the support of her community behind her!

Please pass this message on as you see fit and send us a message on Facebook if you are able to help with these needs. Thank you to each of you that have served alongside us over the years to make a difference in the lives of the girls in Sacramento!

FACT: Black girls are at HIGHEST RISK for commercial s*xual exploitation.

Most people do not know that because the media and most organizations that serve victims do a poor job at highlighting the disproportionate impact on Black girls. Yes, s*x-trafficking effects every race. But the historical oppression and exploitation of Black female bodies is still pervasive in the United States and it must be addressed!

Google human trafficking images and you will not see the faces that most domestic s*x-trafficking organizations serve. 90% of the girls and women we've worked with since our inception have been of African-American decent. Yet Blacks only make up 14% of Sacramento's population. That is a problem that we will no longer be silent about.

Good Morning FB Friends! We have a question for you this beautiful Thursday morning =)

True or False:

Victims of human trafficking are usually kidnapped and held under lock and key?

The myth of child prostitution (Opinion) - CNN.com 08/05/2015

“Indeed, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, there are estimated to be at least 100,000 American children trafficked for s*x each year. They are abducted or lured by traffickers who prey on their trust. They are routinely r***d, beaten into submission, and when they try to run away, the traffickers will often torture or gang r**e them. Or both. Many of these children are supposed to be cared for in our foster care system. But what law enforcement, prosecutors and lawmakers are failing to address properly are the very people responsible for this heartache -- the buyers. What about those who buy our children for s*x? In any other context, what a "John" does when he purchases a girl would be construed as statutory r**e or s*xual assault of a minor.” Thank you Malika Saada Saar for raising awareness for those out there that aren't addressing the demand.

The myth of child prostitution (Opinion) - CNN.com Girls who are subject to repeated r**e, abuse and exploitation are not child prostitutes -- they are victims and survivors of child r**e.
