Sacramento County's budget has more than DOUBLED in the past 10 years ($4 Billion in 2016 to $9.2 Billion in 2026). SacCounty spends 2x per capita than San Diego County.

Despite this largess, some members of the Board of Supervisors voted to CUT public safety while diverting million$ to increase funding for failed & unaccountable homeless programs.

NOTE: A few years ago, all 4 of the Supervisors who voted for these cuts voted to RAISE their own pay by over 36% - to over $175,000 per year.

SCOPE OF THE PROBLEM:
SacCounty (using 2024 records) now has 10,718 NON-public safety employees (ie not counting Sheriff, DA, Public Defender, Coroner, Fire, or Probation.)
- More than 850 get over $200K in total compensation.
- 116 Directors, Chiefs (most over $200K)
- 1,105 office assistants.
- 339 IT workers.
- 151 HR workers.
- 135 Environmental workers.
- 247 mental health workers + 28 Psychiatrists + 59 Pharmists.
- 2588 social workers.
- 14 Public Information Officers - and 1 BAKER.

Why is in-state tuition for CA residents for the University of California system (UC) more than 200% higher than the in-state tuition for comparably ranked universities in Florida?

- The UC system has 266 people who are cashing in at over $1 Million per year in total comp.
- 3,077 UC employees make $500,030 to $999,034/yr.
- 26,927 UC employees make $225,005 to $499,998/yr.
- 141,121 UC employees made AT LEAST DOUBLE the Median Income ($43,298) of all Californians.
- 6,373 payments/reimbursements that were MORE than the total median INCOME of Californians were made to unnamed people or vacant positions.
- Counting all staff, there are MORE EMPLOYEES of the UC System (266,800) than there are undergraduate students enrolled at UC (200,532).
