ATTENTION: All licensees with a furnishing license are required to discuss the following with patients of all ages before dispensing opioids:
• The risks of addiction and overdose associated with opioid use
• The heightened risk of addiction for individuals with mental health or substance abuse disorders
• The dangers of combining opioids with benzodiazepines, alcohol, or other CNS depressants
