The League of California Cities Latino Caucus had a highly successful 2026 Legislative Action Day at the State Capitol.
Our Board showed up with purpose and a unified voice, meeting with key leaders including Speaker Robert Rivas, Assembly Majority Leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, and Assemblymember Mark González.
We proudly advanced our priorities—economic mobility, housing and homeownership, immigrant protections, and environmental justice—while elevating the real perspectives of the communities our members serve.
Proud of our Board’s leadership and impact. This is Latino leadership in action.

League of California Cities Latino Caucus Statement
We begin by honoring Dolores Huerta and the countless organizers, farmworkers, and advocates who built this movement through sacrifice, courage, and collective action.
The recent news regarding César Chávez is deeply disheartening. We recognize the pain these revelations may cause and stand with those who have been harmed. Their voices matter, and they deserve to be heard.
This moment calls for reflection. The farmworker movement has always been about the people—not any one individual. Its strength comes from the many who continue the work with integrity, dignity, and a commitment to justice for all.
We move forward with humility, listening, and a renewed commitment to the values that define this work. Our values are clear: sexual abuse of women and minors is never acceptable, and our hearts are with every survivor.
