We need a peaceful world for all nations and religions and cultures to understand the need for global peace and respect for human rights

Level of corruption in Ghana is overwhelming

We are all one people ,, wether black or white or any other color ,, thanks a lot Senator Saud Anwar for sharing this wonderful post .. in-fact I want to help share Carl Braden to the world . He was really a Hero and a good soul.

This is a picture of a hero, Carl Braden. In my opinion, he has not been celebrated to the level that he needs to be. In 1954 we had policies which made it illegal for blacks to buy homes in suburbs. The systemic redlining that existed and continues to have its impact in many of our States including the state of Connecticut, started in 1930s and was rampant at that time. Just to give you a glimpse into the situation, when a white family, Carl and Anne Braden helped a black family Andrew and Charlotte Wade purchase a subarban house, Carl Braden was sentenced to prison for 15 years. His crime was that he had the decency to have a black family live in the suburbs.

For the people especially during this weekend who think that there is a defacto segregation that has happened in our society and our state know that this was by design. And anybody who stood against this design was imprisoned and was physically attacked.

Please consider not to take things for granted and recognize that our federal government and the tax dollars were Involved in the policy based segregation. All the other apects that follow from where one lives are a by-product of this. This includes education, health, healthcare, economic opportunities, job potential and life span to list a few things.

This Martin Luther King Day weekend it is also worthy to recognize individuals like Carl Braden.
