“Every stage of this work went through a round of human-led QA. This process helped us understand how to use new AI tools better. It also helped garner trust in the results. And informed how we build out a framework for future analyses like this.”
-Summer Mothwood

Engaged California is a program led by the Office of Data and Innovation (ODI). It listens at scale and uses emerging technology to turn public input into data.

In our latest blog, Summer Mothwood, ODI’s Principal Analytics Engineer, takes a deeper dive into our most recent Engaged California conversation with the State workforce. She explains how our team analyzed their feedback using AI, grounded in human oversight.

We’re also taking this moment to recognize women in STEM, who contribute to complex, data-driven work in government.
