Workers & Students for AD4

Two years ago today Democrats across Assembly District 4 put some of their faith and trust in us to represent them in the California Democratic Party. As this term comes to a close we want to thank you for your support, thank you for staying in the fight for working-class people, and thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made to keep our community safe during this pandemic.

Voting just closed, but before the results we want to thank everyone that came out to vote today! Your continued engagement is the only thing that can move our community forward.

It's Election Day folks!!! Be sure to come out and have your voice heard in this important election. Just this morning our former Assemblymember, Mariko Yamada, has endorsed our campaign. Our candidates are running to be proactive and progressive representatives of this district, we hope we'll earn your support.

As the Chair of ACLU Yolo County Chapter Natalie has been an advocate for privacy protections and police accountability. As the Campaign Manager for Dean Johansson for District Attorney she helped lead a movement to bring transparency & accountability to Yolo County's justice system. We're honored to have her endorsement and if we're elected we will work to end the criminalization of people of color and the criminalization of poverty.

Dr. Melissa Moreno is a trail blazing advocate for Yolo County's children. On the Yolo County Board of Education she fights for programs like Head Start, special education, migrant schools, and so many vital services for Yolo County students. As a slate we will work to end the school-to-prison pipeline and to do that we have to stand with education leaders like Dr. Moreno, and we are proud to have her endorsement.

Carlos Alcala has been a decades long advocate for rights and representation for people across California. As Chair of the Chicano Latino Caucus, California Democratic Party Carlos has fought against discrimination, worked to elect more latinos to public office, and he's always stood up for farm workers. If we're elected we will be right along side him in all of those fights, and that's why we're honored to have his endorsement. Be sure to come out and vote in the delegate election next Sunday, January 13th.

Reinvesting in California's education systems, from Pre-K to college, is one of our top policy priorities if we're elected. We know that there are many education leaders we can partner with in this work, but we are proud that Davis School Board Member Cindy Pickett has endorsed our team. She is pushing for better teacher pay, addressing campus climate issues, closing the achievement gap that exist for underserved communities, and we'll always be there to support this important work. Be sure to come out and vote in this important election on January 13th.
