It’s ! 🌾🚜

As a farmer myself, I know the hard work, dedication, and resilience it takes to keep our farms and ranches running. Agriculture is the backbone of Eastern Oregon’s rural economy, providing food, supporting local businesses, and sustaining our communities.

Today, I want to thank the farmers, ranchers, and agricultural families who work year-round to keep Oregon growing. Your contributions matter, and I’m proud to continue advocating for Oregon agriculture.

Thank you for all you do!

💧 Celebrating Oregon's Water Professionals!

Tomorrow marks the beginning of Oregon's first Water Professionals Appreciation Week, starting October 3rd!

Water is the life of our communities. Every time we turn on a tap, flush a toilet, or rely on clean water for our farms, businesses, hospitals and fire departments, there are skilled professionals working behind the scenes to make it possible. They maintain complex systems, protect public health, treat wastewater and stormwater, often 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I was pleased to co-sponsor HB 4005 last session to help establish this week of recognition and celebrate the water professionals who serve communities across our state.

To the operators, technicians, engineers, well drillers, and countless others who work behind the scenes to keep our water systems running, often around the clock: Thank you for your dedication to Oregon's communities.

As Eastern and Central Oregon had the worst twenty-one-plus days of fire on the landscape, it is with gratitude to all those who sacrificed to keep our communities safe. This includes, but is not limited to, the Rural Fire Protection Agencies, Rural Fire Districts, Oregon State Fire Marshal, Oregon Department of Forestry, our federal partners, and our local community members who put their lives and businesses on hold to serve their communities and our state. We have a responsibility to ensure they have the resources and support they need to protect Oregon communities.
