We're still riding high from Habitat for Humanity's 50th Anniversary Affiliate Conference! 🎉

Several members of the Habitat for Humanity of Oregon team, joined by a member of our Homeowner Advisory Council, were proud to be among more than 70 affiliate staff from across Oregon who gathered with Habitat colleagues from around the country to celebrate 50 years of building homes, communities, and hope.

The week was filled with inspiring conversations, fresh ideas, meaningful connections, and a renewed commitment to creating a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We're grateful to be part of a network that continues to learn, innovate, and work together to expand our collective impact.

Here's to the next 50 years of building brighter futures! 🏡💙

This week, we welcomed Senator Kate Lieber and Representative Tawna Sanchez, co-chairs of the Oregon Legislature’s Joint Ways and Means Committee, to our new community in Southwest Portland.

Together with our partners at Proud Ground and Habitat for Humanity of Oregon, we talked about what 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗧 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 helps make possible for Oregon families — and what it takes to create homeownership opportunities designed to last.

Habitat homeowners purchase their homes with affordable mortgages, build equity over time, and become part of communities designed to remain affordable for future generations. Since 1981, Habitat homeowners have maintained a less than 2% foreclosure rate.

Gooseberry Trails will bring 52 permanently affordable homes to SW Portland, giving families and individuals who have few other paths to homeownership the opportunity to build a future of their own.

Thank you, Sen. Lieber and Rep. Sanchez, for spending time with us, asking thoughtful questions, and learning more about affordable homeownership in Oregon.

Building more than homes — we’re building partnerships.

We recently joined leaders from the Office of Governor Tina Kotek and Oregon Housing and Community Services at McMinnville Area Habitat for Humanity's Aspire build site. These volunteers experienced firsthand how affordable homeownership strengthens Oregon communities.

Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and eagerness to return remind us what’s possible when we build together. 💪🔨
