Look folks. Just a bit of reality.
Alotta folks keep saying “he can’t, he can’t, he can’t”.
Well ummm, “he’s doing, he did, and he’s spinning the block.”
So that being said, where do we go from here?
Answer: November 3rd.
If you don’t like the current administration, policies, and behaviors
Ok, understandable. November 3rd is a chance to do something about it. Study the candidates, see where they line up with your desires, and pick accordingly.
A huge part of US in society should beat the door down to check the ballot(s) but the reality is a few thousand who vote decide for us.
The way so many of our great grandparents, nope not even ancestors, were beat, hung, redlined, had to take tests to vote.
The tests required them to name every judge in whatever state, know the number of counties in whatever state, and the date of establishment, count marbles in a jar. They were literally spit on and intimidated with clubs at the door of polling by uniformed, badged, law enforcement. They weren’t cowards then with covered faces like………nvm
They had vehicles vandalized so they weren’t operable to drive on Election Day. They overcame insurmountable odds to VOTE.
Now we don’t have those issues, (or do we)?
A few days ago, Salisbury had a much needed rally to support Haitians from being intimidated, and torn from their families. The City of Salisbury/Wicomico County had a rally for the guests/patients/staff/families for NURSING HOME. ACCOUNTABILITY for human decency standards for the residents of a NURSING HOME. How is this even on the table of discussion is mind blowing to me, but here we are. From all accounts, positive change and oversight is needed.
I’ve been campaigning for a few months now for the Board of Education here in Wicomico County. I’ve been door knocking, going to events, and asking questions to residents within my district (District 3) to get an understanding of their needs and desires. I’m not relying on the media or social media to determine what matters to you.
You have the power and the entrenched authority count on you not voting. They hope you feel like your vote doesn’t count. It does! Many candidates have won by less than 1000 votes. Don’t leave your power, your opinion, your children’s future up to someone else. Make your choice through your vote.
