Kindergarten students at Salinas Elementary enjoyed story time with Judson ISD school board member, Ms. Laura Stanford this afternoon. “Penelope Rex” reminded them not to EAT their classmates and they had a blast showing Ms. Stanford how their ✨ magic speaker ✨ works with the literature app, Novel Effect.

Meet Kazu Kibuishi at Pop Madness 2025! The author and artist behind the popular “Amulet” series and creator of the “Flight Anthologies,” “Explorer Anthologies,” and “Daisy Kutter: The Last Train” will join us on March 8 at Central Library. Kazu’s work has earned accolades like the YALSA Best Books for Young Adults Award.

The Letters About Literature writing contest is open! Texas 4th-12th graders are invited to write a letter to their favorite author (living or dead) explaining how their work inspired them. More details and link to submit at www.tsl.texas.gov/lettersaboutliterature

Winners will receive cash prizes. Deadline is February 3.
