I am dedicated to listening to all residents in our community, independently analyzing issues, and m I love our city. On FORHA, I listen to our members.
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Place 6 to the City of Fair Oaks Ranch City Council. My extensive financial management experience, business acumen, and years of community service will serve the city as it shapes and frames decisions that affect us all. I am dedicated to listening to all residents in our community, independently analyzing issues, and making decisions that are fiscally con
servative, transparent, and require accountability. My childhood years with carefree summers on the Ranch were like no other, and my husband and I have chosen to raise our family in Fair Oaks Ranch in the same laid-back, rural country life style. I want to preserve that quality of life for generations to come while managing growth responsibly within the city. In my community service, I have demonstrated experience in leadership, making tough decisions, and working collaboratively with others. I was elected to the board of the Fair Oaks Ranch Homeowners Association (FORHA) serving over 3,900 members, and within a few months of being on the board, I rose to the position of treasurer where I continue to serve by the unanimous vote of the board. As treasurer, I am accountable as a steward of the association’s common properties and member-driven funds. I would bring that same careful measured approach to the City Council. One key initiative that I have led is the development of a committee for transparency, governance, and legal fees. I also served eight years on neighborhood boards where we lived previously, serving in various leadership capacities including president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. There, I worked collaboratively with board members, staff, and residents, to reach solutions for many difficult issues that arose in the community. I believe that experience will serve me well when helping our city address the many issues we will face in the future. I am a small business owner, and I hold a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in entrepreneurial studies from Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance from St. Mary’s University. I have extensive professional experience in corporate settings, as well as substantial knowledge of accounting requiring compliance with complex financial regulations. I am a native Texan and I graduated from San Antonio Christian School. Happily married for 16 years, my husband, Eric Muenchow, and I are proud parents of three children Abbey (14), Carson (12), and Landon (11). Recently, Carson, our middle schooler at Voss Middle School was chosen as one of the “Outstanding Students of the Quarter.” As a family, we enjoy walking in our parks, hiking, camping, and many other outdoor activities that the beautiful Texas hill country offers. Living in the “back forty” enables me to participate in animal rescue. We have five dogs, twenty-three chickens, two ducks, two cats, a snake, and four goats. The decision to run for city council is a family decision because I know the dedication involved when I commit to a position like this. With the love and support of my family, I am committed to serving our community. I promise to listen to all points of view and do my best to make choices that honor the history of our great city, as well as helping our city adjust to the continued growth that is inevitable for cities in our area. I couldn’t imagine another city to raise our kids in, and I know I can make a difference as our city navigates these changing times. I humbly ask for your vote as Fair Oaks Ranch Council Member Place 6.
