Cancer changed my life. It changed my perspective. It reminded me that every day is a gift, every challenge has a purpose, and every opportunity to serve others should never be taken for granted.
I am grateful for the doctors, nurses, family members, friends, and supporters who stood beside me throughout the journey. Their faith and encouragement carried me through one of the hardest times of my life.
To those currently fighting cancer, keep going. To the survivors, keep living with purpose. And to the families who walk that journey alongside their loved ones, thank you for your strength and sacrifice.
Survival isn’t the end of the story. It’s the beginning of a greater purpose.

One of the biggest misconceptions about leadership is that it begins with a title. It doesn’t.
Leadership begins the moment responsibility becomes yours and excuses are no longer an option. When the stakes are high and others are depending on your decisions, titles matter far less than accountability.
That’s where leadership is truly tested. Pressure will not only expose weakness, but also reveal strength, character, and capability.
That’s why some of the most valuable leadership lessons are earned, not taught.

Freedom is easy to celebrate when you’ve never had to pay the ultimate price for it.
But some did.
Some never made it home.
Some families never recovered.
Some sacrifices cost people everything.
Keep that in mind this holiday weekend.
Memorial Day isn’t about cookouts and comfort. It’s about remembering the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country, and showing appreciation to the families who continue carrying that loss.
Let’s honor them properly.

A lot of people want leadership as long as nobody questions them.
The second they get challenged, they shut people down, silence criticism, or surround themselves with people too afraid to speak honestly.
That’s not leadership. That’s insecurity with authority attached to it.
Strong leaders don’t need to control every voice in the room. They need the discipline to hear opposing ones and still lead with integrity.

Peace Officers Memorial Day is personal for me.
Throughout my career, I have lost friends who never made it home to their families. Good men and women who laid down their lives protecting others.
Today is about remembering them.
Not as headlines. Not as statistics. But as people who answered the call knowing the risks that came with the badge.
They will never be forgotten.

National Police Week isn’t about politics.
It’s about recognizing the men and women who continue to put service, duty, and responsibility above themselves - even when the job gets harder and the criticism gets louder.
Most people only notice law enforcement when something goes wrong.
This week is about recognizing those who hold the line with professionalism, discipline, and courage.
That kind of service deserves the utmost respect.

Not every hero wears a badge, a uniform, or a title. Some quietly hold families together through sacrifice, faith, discipline, and unconditional love.
Today I’m grateful for my mother and for the values she instilled, the strength she carried, and the foundation she gave all of us. Family is everything.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women who lead with love, protect without hesitation, and hold generations together even when nobody sees the weight they carry.

Today is the National Day of Prayer.
I’ve seen what happens when people lose faith, lose purpose, and lose hope. I’ve worked crime scenes, stood with grieving families, buried friends, fought cancer, and carried responsibilities that most people will never fully understand.
Life will humble you. Prayer doesn’t make you weak. It reminds you that you’re human.
No matter your title, your badge, your background, your money, or your position in life - every person eventually reaches a moment where they need strength bigger than themselves.
Today, and everyday:
Pray for your family.
Pray for this country.
Pray for our first responders, military, teachers, and leaders.
Pray for the people silently struggling while pretending they’re okay.
And if you’re going through something right now, don’t stay silent. Don’t isolate yourself. Keep fighting. Keep praying.
