There will not be an increase in school taxes for senior citizens or disabled persons as a result of School Bond 2022. School property taxes for senior citizens & disabled persons are frozen & would not be affected as long as they have applied for and received the appropriate exemptions with their appraisal district.

It's official- our 12th comprehensive high school will be named after United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Trustees voted on the name at tonight's Board Meeting. The naming process began in 2019 with nomination essays from eighth grade students in the potential attendance zone. Duties:
*Participate in the RTI and referral processes.
*Facilitate completion of the Full and Individual Evaluations for referred students within compliance deadlines.
*Perform psychological services in assessment, behavior management, consultation, and counseling for students.
Qualifications
*Master’s/Specialist's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university
*Valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (Trainees accepted with valid Trainee Letter)
Special Knowledge/Skills
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills
*Knowledge of procedures for assessing academic achievement, cognitive abilities, and emotional and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
*Knowledge of academic and behavior prevention and intervention strategies
*Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students
*Knowledge of counseling theory and techniques
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
*Conduct Full and Individual Evaluations for referred students
*Provide counseling sessions and psychological services to students.
*Score and interpret test data Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and facilitate drafting and implementing behavior intervention plans.
*Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with appropriate placement and development of Individual Education Plans (IEP).
*Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
*Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
*Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
*Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
*Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
*Manage and utilize data effectively for systemic process and program analysis.
*No case management, ARD scheduling, or IEP paperwork (other than counseling goals/progress monitoring) is completed by NISD LSSPs.
