From professions of equality, to cementing rights to protest, to firmly rejecting monarchic rule, the Declaration has never been more relevant today.

We need patriotism more than ever — true patriotism that prides itself on protecting every person in this country, not patriotism that relies on feeding egos and hateful ideologies.

We are devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Becca Taylor, Chair of the San Diego County Democratic Party. Becca was more than a client to us, she was a long time partner in the movement. She was always willing to show up and do the work. Whether a lofty and ambitious goal, or a behind-the-scenes tedious task, she would roll up her sleeves for progress. She was a force of nature who was dedicated to the idea that government, especially local government, is a force for good in people’s lives. Our hearts go out to Becca’s family, friends, and all her colleagues at the Party.

It is with the heaviest of hearts and profound grief that the San Diego County Democratic Party announces the passing of our beloved friend, colleague, and Party Chair, Rebecca Taylor. She was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident in Utah when she was hit from behind while returning home from a trip. We will share more details as soon as they are available.
