Did you know iconic scenes from the original Top Gun were filmed right here at the former Naval Training Center? On July 22, 1985, Liberty Station transformed into a Hollywood set for some of the film’s most memorable moments.

The HQ Building, now the Dick Laub NTC Command Center, was featured in the scene where Maverick tries to win over Charlie, while Building 201 — now home to Solare Ristorante and other local businesses — appeared in the courtroom and colonnade scenes.

Next time you’re exploring Liberty Station, take a look around… you might just be standing where Maverick once raced his motorcycle down Roosevelt Road. 🏍️✨
