History has shown us repeatedly that "tough on crime" policies and criminalization of poverty DO NOT work. We are disappointed in the City of San Diego for passing this short-sighted, ill-informed policy.

We are so lucky to have such a fearless leader as our Co-Chair. Congratulations, Maresa!

ICYMI ✍️ in anticipation of today's county vote on the District 4 vacancy, we sent a letter to the Supervisors asking for a special election to be called & for appropriate funds to be allocated for voter outreach and education

Together, we fought to create the Commission on Police Practices. We then spent the last two years advocating for a balanced and just ordinance for the CPP, and finally it’s time to support the appointment of qualified commissioners to the new commission.
San Diegans for Justice, through a process of community input and feedback, nominated leaders to serve for each CPP position, and now it’s your turn to make sure they are appointed!
Email the City Councilmembers and let them know you support each of our nominees →→→
Support SDJ's nominees to the Commission on Police Practices!

Here at SDJ, we believe in electoral reform that gives voters more power to choose their elected leaders and reduces barriers to entry for good candidates who have been locked out of politics. Ranked-Choice Voting establishes just that.
Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) is a voting system in which voters rank candidates in order of preference. Votes that do not help voters’ top choices win count for their next choice.
Ranked-Choice Voting improves fairness in elections by empowering voters to elect leaders that represent them. When coupled with proportional representation, RCV provides a greater political voice for individuals who are not a part of the monied political elite.

Here at San Diegans for Justice, we pride ourselves on building a movement that is accessible to all. That is why our voter education efforts, resources, and action items will never be behind a paywall.
We want to empower our movement to make great strides in the name of criminal, electoral, and economic justice.
We also want to be transparent about the costs of running a county-wide organization, such as expert policy analysis, lawyer retention, organizing, and community outreach.
That is why we are asking you to consider joining the Justice Collective. With a monthly donation of just $12, your membership will help us unravel systems of injustice and build collective power. Join at http://bit.ly/JusticeCollective
As a member of the Justice Collective, you will also have access to an exclusive yearly event with our co-chairs and like-minded members of the community, an invitation to vote on SDJ program priorities, and an exclusive SDJ sticker.
