Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special storytime presented by the one and only Sam Paguita on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10 - 11 a.m. at Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Knox Branch Library!

This program is part of the PRIDE Storytime series—a family-friendly way to recognize and celebrate diversity and individuality through age-appropriate stories and songs.

This is a welcoming event for all families. Everyone is invited to join!

The Hillcrest Youth Center invites the community to check out their Open Closet event on Monday, April 20th from 3-6:30 p.m.!

This event is open to all ages, everyone in the community is invited to check out their Expressions Closet and take home some free clothes and accessories! 🏳️‍🌈

The San Diego Public Library has a few paid internship opportunities for teens and adults (aged 15 ½ and up) at College-Rolando Library and Skyline Hills Library this summer!

San Diego Pride and SDPL need YOUR help designing our PRIDE 2026 commemorative card! This contest is open to artists of all ages with a design that celebrates the theme of PRIDE Shines On.☀️

The theme for San Diego Pride 2026 is Pride Shines On. "As fear-driven narratives resurface and familiar efforts to divide, silence, and roll back hard-won freedoms intensify, San Diego Pride makes a conscious choice: we choose to shine on. The Grand Prize Winner's design that best captures this theme will receive a prize (valued at $250) and have their design printed on the 2026 PRIDE library card! 🌈

Contest Rules 😍
1. One entry per person.

2. Must be your own original artwork.

3. Artwork must fit within the template.

4. Design must include a keychain card version.

5. Artwork should celebrate this year’s theme.

Join Drag Queen Story Hour San Diego and SDPL for a special Women’s HERstory Storytime with Vancie Vega on Tuesday, March 24 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Pacific Highlands Ranch Library!🔆

Together we’ll celebrate the legendary Dolly Parton with age-appropriate songs and stories inspired by Dolly’s music, kindness, and larger-than-life sparkle.🩷

Bring the whole family for a fun and inspiring tribute to one of music and literacy’s most beloved champions!

Join Hillcrest Youth Center and SDPL each month at HYC to read and discuss a graphic novel written by an LGBTQIA+ author every 4th Wednesday! Free books and snacks will be provided.

The club is recommended for ages 13-24.

*Youth ages 10-13 are still welcome to attend if they are interested in participating, as long as they are comfortable with the topics the books are discussing.
