Yesterday, Somerset Sailors participated in a rememberance ceremony at Flight 93 National Memorial for the 24th anniversary of 9/11.
Shortly after, the Sailors headed to the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department where they held a flag folding ceremony.
We are incredibly thankful and privileged to bear the Somerset namesake. Never forget; Let’s Roll!

Today, Somerset Sailors participated in a guided tour at the International Conservation Center, an extension of the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. Who knew Somerset had elephants?! 🐘
They also toured Hillegas Sugar Camp, experiencing how the nation’s finest maple syrup is made and followed up with a tour at Penwood Dairy Farm 🐄
After a day of tours, dinner was hosted by American Legion where Sailors got to interact with veterans and first responders of 9/11.

Somerset Sailors are back in Somerset County! ⚓️🇺🇸
They started with a tour at Global SFC Valve, one of the nations top leaders in the manufacturing, assembly, testing, and inventory of U.S. Navy standard valves and components.
Then visited Rockwood High School and Somerset Area High School to educate students and answer questions about life at sea.
And ending the day with a tour of Laurel Hill State Park where they learned about the Civilian Conservation Corps.
