What great back-to-school kickoffs for our Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools educators! We were treated to some fantastic performances from our marching bands and cheer teams, heard from student speakers about our Profile of a Learner, and listened to an inspiring keynote from A.J Juliani.

Recently I joined the James River Association aboard their floating classroom, for an on-the-water tour of the Lower James. We learned about the river’s ecology, took part in a hands-on fish trawl, and talked about the importance of clean water, coastal resilience, and healthy habitats.

Experiences like this are a great reminder of how connected our environment, communities, and future are. Thank you to the James River Association for a great experience and for the work you do to educate our students and keep our river healthy!

I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected to join Cohort 2 of the Virginia Hunt State Policy Fellows.

I’m looking forward to learning alongside leaders from across the Commonwealth as we explore issues affecting early childhood education, K–12 schools, and our workforce. I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring back new ideas, build new relationships, and continue working toward a stronger future for Virginia’s students.

Hip hip huzzah! Happy 250th Birthday, America, from Colonial Williamsburg! 🇺🇸

It was amazing to celebrate this historic milestone where so much of our nation's story began. Huge thanks to WHRO Public Media and PBS for an incredible program that brought history to life!

Tonight, I made “Randy’s Really Good Green Chili Enchiladas” for about 200 people at the Kiwanis Men Who Cook event! It was great to join so many outstanding members of our community while helping raise funds for the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg and the important work they do for local children and families.
