MORSE & LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOLS: MENTORING AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter, San Diego California.
CAEP (Continued Academic Excellence Program) is a Mentoring Program that features Focus Group Style Meetings that provide SUPPORT and ENCOURAGEMENT to African American Males, as well as other Underprivileged Students, with the goal of these students ATTENDING and COMPLETING COLLEGE after Graduating from High School. Meetings Feature Guest Speakers from Collegiate, Science, Government, Business, Law, and other Professional Industries who are willing to share their Personal Experiences, Professional and Personal Advice, and Strategies that give Students Important Resources that help them to be Successful in their Adult and Professional Lives. Meetings should be open forums where students are engaged in open discussion with their peers, mentors, and guest speakers. By being actively engaged in the meetings, students retain more information as they are less likely to "zone out" during a guest speaker's long and boring lecture.
