The streets of Paris filled with prayer, banners, and hymns as more than a thousand Christians gathered to denounce what they call the “silence of the world” in the face of Christian persecution. The demonstration, organized by a coalition of young Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox voices, marked one of the largest public rallies in France dedicated to the issue in recent years.

The event was sparked by the recent killing of Ashur Sarnaya, an Assyrian Christian from Iraq, murdered in Lyon earlier this month, a tragedy that organizers say highlights how violence against Christians is not only a distant reality in conflict zones but also an issue that can touch French soil.

Protesters carried messages stating : “On tue des chrétiens, le monde se tait” (“Christians are being killed, the world is silent”), “Stop Christians persecutions”, and calls to “Pray for Nigeria” and “Pray for Yemen.” Red crosses, candles, and hymns gave the demonstration a solemn, prayerful tone, balancing both mourning and hope.

Speakers reminded the crowd of the staggering global numbers: over 380 million Christians worldwide face persecution or severe discrimination for their faith, with Nigeria, North Korea, and parts of the Middle East among the most dangerous regions. In Nigeria alone, thousands of Christians have been killed or kidnapped in the past year.

The Paris rally also fits into a wider French movement of awareness. Each year, Aide à l’Église en Détresse (AED) organizes the Nuit des Témoins and illuminates churches in red to honor modern martyrs.

As one young participant said, “We are here because our brothers and sisters die for their faith, and the least we can do is raise our voices.”

Harvey Milk was born into a Jewish family in New York, raised with values of social justice, Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), and standing up for the rights of minorities. His grandfather was a Jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe who built a small clothing business, and Milk grew up knowing that his people had faced persecution for generations—but had never stopped fighting back.

When he became one of the first openly gay politicians elected to public office in the U.S. in 1977, he wasn’t just fighting for LGBT rights—he was fighting for anyone pushed to the margins of society. He firmly believed that no one should live in fear or be forced to hide who they are, a deeply Jewish principle rooted in justice and equality.

During his election campaign, Milk also faced antisemitism. Some opposed him not only for being LGBT but for being Jewish. But he refused to back down. He knew that those who stay silent in the face of discrimination today will be its victims tomorrow.

At the height of his activism, in 1978, he was assassinated by a political opponent—but his ideas continued to resonate, transforming the U.S. and the world.

As a Jew, Harvey Milk understood what it meant to be a minority, and from his own life experience, he knew that the only choice was to fight for freedom and justice—for everyone.

📢 Share his story—let the world know how much power one person with a mission can have!

To the women and men who claim to be advocates for ‘all’ women but who have not said a word to support all the Jewish female hostages taken by Hamas, murdered by Hamas, mutilated by Hamas and r***d by Hamas - when you knew that you could.

At any point.

But you were too scared to or just didn’t want to, but all the while you’ve continued to talk about the inequality aimed at women in startups, misogyny at the work place, at home, sexual abuse and more.

You don’t advocate for all women.

And some of our women who survived hell are returning home now. Being released in exchange for bloodthirsty Jihadist terrorists who have murdered and killed our innocents and who would do the same to you in a heartbeat.

Take a look at this photo.

A mob of thousands of disgusting and vile men, taunting, terrorizing and trying to humiliate her as she heads home after 482 days.

482 days alone in terror tunnels. Away from her family. Her friends. Her everything.

There is more strength in this one woman than you will ever have in your entire body.

I will never forgive your silence.
Nor will I forget it.

Welcome home Arbel.

We will not stop working until ALL of you are home.
