Throughout his tour, ET1 Brunner demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and dedication to mission readiness. Serving as the ship’s 3M Coordinator (3MC) at the end of his tour, he played a critical role in ensuring material readiness and maintenance excellence across the command.
In recognition of his superior performance, ET1 Brunner was awarded an end-of-tour Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a testament to his hard work, leadership, and lasting contributions to USS JACKSON.

Sailors gathered to celebrate the Chief Petty Officer’s Birthday, recognizing the legacy, leadership, and unwavering commitment of our Chiefs Mess. The ceremonial cake cutting—shared between senior and junior Chiefs—symbolizes the passing of knowledge, experience, and responsibility from one generation to the next.
For over a century, Chief Petty Officers have been the backbone of the Navy, leading from the deckplates and setting the standard for professionalism, mentorship, and warfighting excellence. The celebration not only honors that proud history but reinforces the bond and tradition that continue to shape our Navy’s future.

USS Jackson honored Chief Engineman Sergio Coronel with a traditional bong-off, recognizing his exceptional service and long-standing dedication to the ship and crew.
ENC Coronel’s journey on Jackson is one of true leadership and grit—arriving as EN1, rising to become the ship’s Top Snipe, and spending years on board shaping the Engineering Department into what it is today. His technical expertise, deckplate leadership, and commitment to mentoring Sailors set a standard that will carry forward long after his departure.
