If you live in Texas and care about the direction of this country, this Senate race is not a personality contest. It’s a choice between two very different futures. Whereas, I cannot say that I have been a big fan of Ken Paxton, I understand that politics is not about electing the Pope.

Ken Paxton has spent years as Attorney General doing what a lot of politicians only talk about: suing the federal government when it overreaches, defending Texas’ energy industry, fighting for the border, and standing with President Trump’s America First agenda. He beat the establishment in the primary because Republican voters wanted a fighter, not another Washington deal-maker. Cornyn, whom I liked, sealed his fate by not pushing the Save America Act.

James Talarico is a different product. He’s an Austin Democrat who wants to write Roe into federal law, raise taxes on job creators, grow the welfare state, and treat ICE like the problem instead of the cartels and illegal crossings. He has filed climate bills that would force steep emissions cuts on a state whose economy still runs on oil and gas. He talks about “billionaires buying the system” while raising tens of millions from national Democrats who see Texas as their next prize.

I won’t mention his theology.

Here’s the contrast that matters:
• Life. Paxton has defended Texas’ abortion law. Talarico wants to restore and federalize abortion on demand.
• Border. Paxton has spent his time in office suing to stop catch-and-release and force the feds to enforce the law. Talarico’s record and comments lean toward treating enforcement as the scandal.
• Energy and jobs. Texas energy pays for schools, roads, and paychecks. Paxton will fight for it. Talarico’s climate record would put that sector in a regulatory vise.
• Kids and culture. Paxton has gone after Big Tech for pushing harmful content on children and opposed the gender-ideology agenda. Talarico has made comments on faith and transgender issues that put him well to the left of most Texas families.
• Spending and taxes. Paxton’s plan is tax deductions so families keep more of what they earn for homes, health care, and kids. Talarico’s plan is higher taxes on “the rich,” a public option, and more federal programs paid for by people who already work.

Talarico is a gifted fundraiser and a polished speaker. That is not the same as being a senator who will vote with Texas instead of with Chuck Schumer.

National Democrats are pouring money into this race because they think they can flip a Senate seat that has not gone Democrat since 1988. They are not doing it because they suddenly love Texas values.

If you want a senator who will confirm conservative judges, back energy production, secure the border, and keep Washington from running Texas, the choice is Ken Paxton. If you want the opposite, Talarico is the candidate national Democrats already bought.

Share this if you know someone still on the fence. November 3 is closer than it feels.

Republican Nominee Julie Dahlberg Introduces Campaign Centered on Faithful Stewardship and a Vision for South Texas

LA VERNIA, TEXAS – September 1, 2026. Republican nominee Julie Dahlberg today officially introduced her campaign for Texas Senate District 21, offering voters a vision rooted in faithful stewardship, constitutional conservatism, servant leadership, and a long-term commitment to strengthening South Texas for generations to come.

A U.S. Army veteran, small-business owner, nonprofit executive, and longtime community leader, Dahlberg brings more than two decades of experience leading organizations, managing budgets, developing programs, and serving Texans through nonprofit, business, and volunteer leadership. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside organizations serving veterans, families, pregnancy resource centers, individuals experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addiction.

"For more than twenty years, my career has been built on a simple responsibility: faithfully stewarding other people's resources, earning their trust, and delivering results," Dahlberg said. "Public office should be no different."

Dahlberg's commitment to South Texas began in 2019 while volunteering for another campaign, long before even considering becoming a candidate herself. Since then, she has spent years working alongside the people of Senate District 21 - listening, learning, serving, and building relationships with the communities she hopes to represent.

Her 2022 campaign further strengthened those relationships and deepened her understanding of both the challenges and extraordinary opportunities facing the region.

Rather than pursuing politics as a career, Dahlberg says she is seeking public office because she believes government exists to faithfully perform the responsibilities entrusted to it by the people.

"This campaign is not simply about winning an election. Elections come and go, but the decisions we make today will shape South Texas for generations.

“This campaign – and this seat – belong to you. My hope is that we come together to make those decisions wisely, so that our children and grandchildren inherit a South Texas that is stronger, more prosperous, and more hopeful than ever before."

After years of traveling throughout Senate District 21 and listening to families, farmers, ranchers, veterans, educators, pastors, law enforcement officers, business owners, healthcare professionals, and local leaders, Dahlberg says one conclusion has become increasingly clear.

"South Texans don't expect government to solve every problem. They do expect government to faithfully perform the responsibilities entrusted to it – and to stop neglecting the things that matter most."

That conviction has become the foundation of her campaign.

"My philosophy is straightforward," Dahlberg said. "Government should faithfully perform its essential responsibilities, exercise responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, protect individual liberty, and leave the next generation greater opportunities than we inherited."

Throughout the campaign, Dahlberg will introduce detailed policy proposals built upon those principles, including initiatives to:

-Secure South Texas' water and energy future through long-term infrastructure planning and responsible resource stewardship.

-Secure Texas elections and restore public confidence in the electoral process.

-Protect the sanctity of human life, protect children and strengthen families through compassionate, community-centered solutions.

-Defend the constitutional liberties guaranteed by the United States and Texas Constitutions.

-Restore economic opportunity by investing in infrastructure that allows agriculture, energy, manufacturing, technology, and small businesses to thrive.

-Expand access to quality healthcare in underserved rural communities.

-Increase teacher pay and direct student investment, while simultaneously examining administrative compensation and staffing, so that our salary structure is best aligned with our actual educational mission and goals.

-Support law enforcement, secure the border, and promote safe communities.

-Eliminate the property tax system and replace it with a fair, sustainable alternative that best respects private property rights and reduces the overall burden on taxpayers.

-Improve transparency, accountability, and faithful stewardship throughout state government.

Dahlberg emphasized that her campaign is focused not only on today's challenges, but on preparing South Texas for the next generation.

"I believe the best days for South Texans are still ahead of us," she said. "We have extraordinary, hardworking people, abundant resources, strong communities, and an enduring spirit of faith and resilience. With principled leadership, long-term thinking, and a willingness to work together, we can build a future worthy of those who will come after us."

She described the campaign as an invitation for citizens, churches, businesses, educators, farmers, ranchers, local governments, and community organizations to work together toward a common purpose.

"The greatest accomplishments in Texas history weren't built by one person. They were built by Texans working together with a shared purpose. That's the kind of leadership I hope to bring to the Texas Senate."

Dahlberg concluded by reaffirming the guiding principles that will shape both her campaign and, if elected, her service in office:

Stewardship. Freedom. Opportunity.

"Public office is a public trust. If the people of Senate District 21 place that trust in me, I will work every day to honor it – with humility, integrity, and faithful stewardship."

Fauci was wrong about virtually everything. We were right all along.

-Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine worked—safe, early treatments that were deliberately suppressed.

-Masks were theater, not science.

-Lockdowns caused far more harm than good.

-Remdesivir was, and remains, harmful.

-The mRNA injections carried serious risks that were never honestly disclosed.

-Six-foot “social distancing” was an arbitrary invention with no rigorous basis.

-PCR testing was massively overused and produced huge numbers of false positives that were treated as real infections.

-The case fatality rate for most people was low.

-COVID originated from the Wuhan lab, and NIH funding flowed into gain-of-function research there.

Fauci funded and defended that research while publicly denying it.

He lied to protect his position, his funding streams, and his power. He harmed ordinary Americans—patients, families, children—to advance his own money and control.

This man should face real accountability. Put the villain in prison.
