Join SOMOS, the youth arm of Union del Barrio, as we reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with the people of Cuba and their ongoing struggle to defend their sovereignty, dignity and right to self-determination. Rooted in the principle of anti-imperialism, we recognize that the challenges facing Cuba cannot be separated from the larger history of US intervention and economic aggression in our hemisphere. No country should be subject to violent policies that harm working families, restrict access to resources and attempt to dictate a people’s political future by imperialist forces. Join us to stand in solidarity with Cuba and their fundamental right to define themselves as a sovereign nation! The struggle for justice in our barrios is inseparable from the people’s struggle for dignity in Cuba!

NO QUE NO, SI QUE SI!
YA VOLVIMOS A SALIR!

Somos Raza, the “Barrio Youth” project of Unión del Barrio, founded in the late 1980s, has mobilized the youth for various generations - from cop watch patrols, barrio unity events, to Escuela Aztlan and the Zapata March. Union del Barrio youth have engaged in an organized, disciplined liberation struggle to combat colonial repression and build toward Raza Liberation.

After a pause, our much awaited youth project is returning with the focus on nurturing and defending the combative spirit of young people, now more than ever. As comandante Ernesto “Che” Guevara said, “Youth must learn to lead not only their peers, but revolutionists older than themselves as well. You must be the model ‘for older men and women who have lost some of that useful enthusiasm.’”

Jóvenes, we invite you to join us for our first session of educación y capacitación política, ALL POWER TO THE YOUTH! ICE OUT OF OUR BARRIOS! Come learn how to recognize and report ICE in your barrio & how to keep your community safe while uniting with other revolutionary youth.
Snacks and dinner will be provided.
