Boy does this look familiar to anyone else? Unintended consequences of a no growth ballot measure proving to be very costly in Encinitas as they now have to defend themselves against the state of California for not approving potential general plan amendments to build housing for all income types. So as a city your options are to get sued by local no growth groups for approving amendments for development that does not completely conform to your general plan (no matter how out dated that plan is), or get sued by the state of California for not allowing the amendments. Ain't that just something...

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of the “Santee Proud” that fought so very diligently to make sure we maintain our long term family values! This was a true reminder of why I decided to raise my family in Santee. To Evlyn Andrade-Heymsfield, though we have very different views politically, you were dedicated to your campaign and worked very hard! Congratulations on a hard fought race! There are SO MANY people, that I know I am going to miss some, but please know I could never have won with out all of you. From defending the truth on FB and other social media to knocking doors, making phone calls and waiving signs. You are all amazing and my family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts! There is still a lot of work to be done in Santee and I think we have a majority of the council that will be ready to get that work done to make sure Santee continues to prosper. So to start off, I want to thank my wife Dawn McNelis and our kids Hailey and Tyler for enduring the harsh ridicule of our name and standing strong with me the whole time. This is just wrong! Just because you do not get the endorsement from the Santee Fire Fighters Associaction, does not mean that you have someone pretend to be a Firefighter and walk doors for you dressed as such. Just shameful!!

So proud to once again have the endorsement and support of our Law Enforcement on this upcoming election on Nov 6th. Looking forward to keeping Santee the city with one of the lowest crime rates in the entire county when re-elected!
