California recently (1 July 2019) added a law that requires a background check to purchase ammunition.

San Diego's safe firearm storage law will not make you a victim; you can still legally have your gun available to your immediate access without a trigger lock!!

On 13 August, 2019 San Diego City Council adopted the Safe Storage of Fi****ms within the City of San Diego.

"(c) Prohibition. It is unlawful for any person to keep a
firearm within any residence, including its accessory
structures, unless the firearm is stored in a locked
container or disabled with a trigger lock." [p.6]

The law still allows for a firearm to be stored unlocked nearby or carried upon the person.

"(d) Exceptions. Subsection (c) shall not apply in the
following circumstances:
(1) the firearm is carried on the body of a person who is an
authorized user of the firearm, or
(2) the firearm is in the immediate control of the authorized
user so that the person can readily retrieve and use the
firearm as if carried on the person’s body." [p.6/7]

Open and concealed carry are legal in the State of California within owned and rented homes, even without a concealed carry permit, unless a city law bans this. San Diego currently allows lawful carry by these methods within the residence.

Effectively, this law is the same as a state law, PC25100; making a person a criminal if a child gains access to their fi****ms and leaves the house or causes an injury.

The law entered final passage on 13 August and takes effect 30 days later, on 12 September, 2019.

force on the thirtieth day from and after its final passage."

On Monday, 15 July, San Diego City Council voted 2-1 (Bry-yea, Moreno-yea, Cate-nay) to send a proposal for a new municipal fi****ms storage ordinance to a full vote.

The Declaration of Independence was adopted on 4 July, 1776, and represents the formal separation of the Colonies from British oversight.

The Revolutionary War began a year earlier, in April of 1775, with the battles at Lexington and Concord. These sites were armories for the surrounding towns, where the militias' fi****ms were stored. The strategy of capturing the guns and depriving the Colonists of the means to engage in armed conflict was implemented by British Army, but the tactic instead served to catalyze the opposition to British rule into violent skirmishes that sparked 8 years of fighting.

France joined the conflict on the side of the colonial rebellion in 1778.
The war would endure through 1783, and would be rekindled in 1812.

The 4th of July is a celebration of defiance, of rebellion, and of embracing the power that is bestowed upon each of us by the Creator.
