‘Illegal’ forest service overhaul risks causing ‘chaos’ across US public lands, union claims 04/13/2026

Don't be gaslighted by the bureaucratic terms being used by Trump's Department of Agriculture. There's nothing benign about the proposed "reorganization" of the U.S. Forest Service, which is intended as a death knell for the agency's decades of institutional knowledge and rigorous scientific capabilities with the closing of 58 of its research facilities and all 10 regional offices. Our congressional representatives must hold investigations immediately! There is no need for any of this! NO "REORGANIZATION" OF THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE!

Could SoCal mountain lions get permanent protections? Wildlife officials to decide early next year 12/14/2025

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has recommended threatened status for several genetically-distinct mountain lion groups, from the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Santa Monica, San Gabriel, San Bernardino, and Santa Ana ranges here in Southern California. Habitat fragmentation, fatal freeway crossings, rat poison, and development that traps big cats in increasingly smaller pockets of habitat continues to denude mountain lion diversity and overall populations.
