A Beautiful New Beginning for One Walden Family! 💙

We love sharing stories that remind us just how meaningful family support can be, and Jaime's story is one worth celebrating!

Today, Jaime and his family visited Walden with some wonderful news. Their child services case has officially closed, marking an important milestone in their journey toward family stability.

Jaime shared his gratitude for Walden's Nurturing Parenting program and the support his family received along the way. And then his daughter said something our team won't soon forget:

“Thank you for helping my daddy.” ❤️

Those five little words captured so much of what our work is about: supporting parents, nurturing families, and creating opportunities for brighter futures.

To make this chapter even sweeter, Jaime and his wife recently celebrated their marriage!

Congratulations to this wonderful family. We're honored to have been part of your journey and can't wait to see what the future holds! 🎉

🎉 Making Birthdays a Little Sweeter! 🎂

Sometimes, the simplest gestures leave the most lasting impressions.

One of Walden's foster youth recently received a special birthday cake, generously donated by Cake4Kids and delivered by a thoughtful volunteer!

For a young person, knowing that someone remembered their birthday and took the time to make it special can mean so much.

We're sending a heartfelt thank-you to Cake4Kids and their wonderful volunteers for sharing kindness, creating smiles, and reminding young people that they deserve to be celebrated.

Great Conversations. Meaningful Connections. Lasting Impact. 💙

This week, Walden's Chief Human Resources Officer, Darjene, joined fellow HR leaders as a panelist at the San Diego SHRM Executive and Top-Level HR Community Group Meeting!

The event, hosted by Danny Kim, PhD, with the San Diego Foundation, brought professionals together to discuss workplace challenges, share experiences, and learn from one another.

But the impact doesn't stop there! We're especially thankful that the San Diego SHRM community is assembling 100 hygiene kits for Walden's Wellness Pantry, providing everyday essentials to young adults and families who need them.

A big thank-you to Darjene for representing Walden and to everyone helping turn meaningful conversations into meaningful community support!

🎉 A New Chapter of Wellness, Support, and Independence!

On October 5, we celebrated the grand opening of the Walden Wellness Pantry at our San Diego headquarters!

Developed in partnership with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, this new resource provides young adults transitioning out of foster care with access to nutritious food, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and other everyday necessities—all at no cost.

And here's what makes it especially meaningful: the pantry is available to eligible transition-age foster youth throughout San Diego County, not just those enrolled in Walden's programs.

As we celebrate 50 years of serving our community, we're continuing to find new ways to help young people build stable, independent futures.
