One day, all of us will be remembered for something.
Not for the emails we answered.
Not for the errands we ran.
Not for the things we accumulated along the way.
We'll be remembered for the lives we touched, the opportunities we created, and the difference we made for others.
For young people aging out of foster care, the future can feel uncertain. Without family support or a safety net, many face tremendous challenges as they transition into adulthood.
A legacy gift to Walden Family Services helps provide stable housing, life skills, educational support, and hope for foster youth working to build independent futures.
Because the most meaningful legacy isn't what we leave behind.
It's the lives we help change.

Today, we proudly celebrate Walden Family Services Board Member Cherie Enge, who was recognized at The Salvation Army’s Women of Dedication 2026 – 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee honoring extraordinary women whose leadership, compassion, and service continue to make a lasting impact across San Diego.
Cherie’s dedication to our community is truly inspiring. In addition to her accomplished career as a civil litigator and pro tem judge, she has devoted countless hours to uplifting others through mentorship, advocacy, and philanthropy. Through her longtime involvement with The Links, Inc. and her leadership within Walden Family Services, Cherie continues to champion opportunities, support, and brighter futures for children, youth, and families throughout Southern California.
Her heart for service, commitment to equity, and passion for giving back embody the very spirit of this prestigious recognition.
Congratulations, Cherie, on this incredible honor. We are grateful for your leadership, your generosity, and the many lives you continue to impact. 💙

We’re hiring a Chief Operating Officer at Walden Family Services.
This is more than a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to help shape the future for foster youth as they transition into independent, successful adult lives.
At Walden, we’re focused on what comes next: providing housing, employment support, education, and life skills that empower young people to build real, lasting stability.
As COO, you’ll play a key role in driving that impact forward—strengthening operations, scaling programs, and helping lead our next chapter.
If you’re a strategic, mission-driven leader who’s ready to make a meaningful difference, we’d love to connect.
Join us in building what’s next. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to San Diego Police Department Community Relations Officer Torres for joining us at Walden Family Services for a valuable youth community safety training.
By creating space for open conversation around safety, awareness, and trust, we help empower foster youth with knowledge, confidence, and stronger connections to the community around them.
Thank you, Officer Torres and SDPD, for investing in our youth and helping build a safer, more informed community for all. 💙
