Fellowship Oppertunity ! ⭐️

Apply to be the 2026-2027 Bonnie Reiss Leading on Climate Graduate Student Fellow!

Fellows serve as student representatives to the University’s Global Climate Leadership Council (GCLC) and Sustainability Steering Committee (UCSSC) for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Fellows receive a $5,000 stipend for their work.

Applications are due by 11:59 PM June 15, 2026.

Our May StAR, Jerry Hernandez advocated for increased basic needs support across the UC System. He urged the Regents to expand comprehensive basic needs programs,highlighting housing and food assistance as a priority.

Our May StAR, LaRyel Waldon utilized her public comment to highlight the importance of educational financial support in order to ensure fair access for all. She urged the Regents to expand institutional aid and funding pathways for graduate students.

Our March STAR, Genavieve Koenigshofer advocated instituting Open Educational Resources (OERs) to address high cost class materials. This initiative would improve financial conditions for graduate students, who often have to choose between basic needs and their textbooks.

Our March STAR, Kalani Phillips utilized her public comment to urge the UC Regents to institute SB 1491 across the UC campuses. She spoke on behalf of LGBTQ+ survivors, advocating for confidential support staff in student care centers.
