Re-elect Phoebe Shin Venkat for Foster City Council 2026

Despite being the only AANHPI (Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander) person on our current council, I was not asked to read the AANHPI Heritage Month Proclamation during the May 4, 2026 council meeting. I understand that nothing is owed to me. I am not upset; disappointed and embarrassed, yes, but not at all surprised nor diminished. I am not seeking sympathy nor applogies. I want to use this as a moment to teach. My ancestors and family forged me in steadfast values that can NEVER be suppressed.
