In Benicia, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, and we remember that freedom is never free.

Today, Councilman Scott and I joined our community at the Benicia Military Cemetery for the annual Memorial Day ceremony hosted by our local VFW and American Legion.

We are forever grateful to the veterans, families, and community members who keep the memory of our fallen heroes alive.

Let’s show up for our Panthers!

The Benicia High School Band has a chance to perform the National Anthem at KRON’s July 4 Show, but they need our votes. Please take a minute to vote, and vote often before voting closes May 13 at 7:00 PM.

There is still time to vote on what high school band will play the National Anthem on KRON4's 4th of July Show!

With nearly 35,00 votes cast, as of Monday morning the margin between first and second place is only 37 votes.

Happy anniversary Bubbie! 27 years ago today, you said “I do”… and you changed my life forever. You’re the sun in my universe. The one who brings the light, the warmth, and inspires me to be a better husband, father, friend, and in service to others. Thank you for our life, our family, and every moment along the way. Love, Me

Earlier today I had the privilege of attending the Benicia Pack 108 Arrow of Light ceremony. This is one of the most meaningful milestones in Cub Scouts.

They surprised me with this incredible gift, and I’m truly grateful. It’s moments like this that remind me why serving this community matters so much to me.

Congratulations to the Cub Scouts who earned the AOL rank. Benicia is proud of you.

Happy New Year from The Largas, coming to you from Italy. We’re nine hours ahead, but thinking of our family and friends back home. May your 2026 be filled with joy, good health and success.

We’re so grateful Santa took time out of his very busy schedule to visit us here in Benicia and bring gifts for our kids. Seeing their excitement reminds us what the season is all about— joy, love, and a whole lot of smiles. Feliz Navidad everyone!

I appreciate the repairs on West 7th. If you spot potholes or other street issues elsewhere in town, you can report them anytime using the Benicia SeeClickFix app or online at https://bit.ly/BeniciaSeeClickFix
It’s the fastest way to get issues on the radar.

On Thursday, December 18, West 7th Street, between Military West and Cheryl Drive, will be closed for scheduled road maintenance. The work is limited to pothole repairs only.

The planned maintenance will provide temporary relief from the most severe roadway deterioration. A more comprehensive pavement rehabilitation project for this segment of West 7th Street has not yet been scheduled.

The traffic restrictions are expected to last for one day, Thursday, December 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please expect delays and avoid the area is possible.
