199 Race Street Demolition to Start This Week

The demolition of the long-shuttered Pizza Hut building at 199 Race Street is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 4th.

The City of San Jose bought the property in mid-2021 using Parkland Dedication Ordinance (PDO) funds for a future neighborhood park.

Park design and construction, as seen with The Beautiful Way Park, can be a multi-year process, with each Council office having a finite annual budget for new parks in its District.
