We met tonight to thank outgoing President, Francesca Medina, for her service and her spirit. For giving us a year of Rotary that was rooted in compassion, driven by community, and shaped by courage.

Leadership in Rotary is never about titles. It is about service above self, about lifting others even when no one is watching, and about leaving behind a legacy that inspires others to do the same. Francesca, you have embodied all of this—and so much more. Thank you!

Every year, our club proudly sponsors a number of students from East Side Union High School District to pursue a degree in trade. This is truly appreciated by students who would have normally dropped out after high school.

Last year we awarded scholarships to 12 new students (Fall '24) and 1 renewed student (Fall '22).

Let's beat this number this year!

The Rotary high school speech contest on the theme "Service Above Self" was a remarkable display of passion, empathy, and eloquence. Each contestant delivered thought-provoking speeches, sharing inspiring stories of selflessness, community service, and the power of giving. Their words reflected a deep understanding of the importance of serving others and making a difference in society.

The judges were thoroughly impressed by the contestants' confidence, creativity, and heartfelt messages. The outstanding performances made it clear that the spirit of service is alive in the younger generation, giving hope for a more compassionate future. Congratulations to all participants for their exceptional efforts and for embodying the true essence of "Service Above Self."
