They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting. This new Framework is what young children should know and be able to do during these formative years. Our intent is to assist programs in their efforts to create and impart stimulating and foundational learning experiences for all young children and prepare them to be school ready.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Head Start Director is directly responsible for the overall operation of the Head Start program which includes providing leadership, direction, and management of staff and program; compliance with Federal and State regulations and guidelines; collaborate effectively with public and private organizations, agencies, and institutions in the communities served; establish and maintain effective management and service delivery systems to ensure the implementation of a quality Head Start program; work in partnership with Policy Council and Board of Directors.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to communicate effectively, positive attitude, dependability, and ability
to organize and perform with a minimum of instruction.
2. Must have general knowledge of accounting.
3. Must be able to supervise and manage effectively.
4. Should have a background in Early Childhood Development.
5. Must attend all meetings held after work hours and workshops for administrative and
other programmatic areas.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management;
Master’s Degree preferred. Experience in managing/administering a social service agency or related area.

The Education Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive Early Childhood Education Services Program; for planning and coordinating training and skill development in the areas of Early Childhood Education for staff and parents; ensuring that the program adheres to the Federal Head Start Performance Standards and other applicable regulations.

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the area of Early Childhood Education, particularly of working with preschool children. A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required.

To assist classroom staff and cooperate in a supportive role in carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. To promote the health, nutrition, and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare.

Must have the ability to relate to, interact with and demonstrate genuine affection for young children. Must have the ability to write and communicate verbally with children and adults. Should be warm, outgoing, firm, and flexible. Must be capable of performing daily bus rides with the children, and monitoring them to ensure their safety. Must have two (2) years of experience working with pre-school age children. A Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or ECE diploma is required.
