We are proud to announce our latest project: Face Shields for Children with Respiratory Illnesses

These particular children are our focus due to the fact that respiratory illnesses can make wearing conventional masks difficult, but alternatives — such as face shields — are either virtually nonexistent or prohibitively expensive in child sizes. In order to help mitigate this issue, we have recently redesigned our existing face shield frame to better fit children.

Over the past month, we have donated our new, smaller face shields to these children currently being treated in medical facilities-- for COVID-19 or other reasons. We have donated a total of nearly 450 of these shields to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach since the beginning of the month. These hospitals have provided our shields to children suffering from Asthma and Cystic Fibrosis.

We have officially donated over 2000 face shields since our establishment on April 7th, more than doubling our initial goal of 1000. Earlier today we donated 100 face shields to Pitchess Detention Center, the site of a recent outbreak in our community. We hope that these help keep the officers, prison workers, and inmates safe to counteract further spread in the Santa Clarita Valley.
