I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who came out to Aspire Brewing today.

It really meant a lot to see so many people come out, enjoy some good food and music, and take the time to talk with us. I truly appreciate everyone who stopped by, asked questions, shared their thoughts, or simply came over to say hello.

These are the moments I enjoy most meeting people, having real conversations, and getting to know the people in the community I’m working to serve.

Thank you again for your support and for making today such a great afternoon. I’m truly grateful. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

It is a true honor to have served this country alongside so many brave men and women. Standing at the Lincoln Memorial and seeing my name, Raymond Merriman, displayed on the USAA National Military Monument is something I will carry with me forever. To every veteran whose name appears here, thank you for your service and your sacrifice.

Before the title, there was the service.

I’m grateful to Ladi Miz for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and personal reflection about Jill Wilkins and me and more importantly, about the lives we’ve lived before asking for your vote.

Political experience can be measured in years holding office, but service, responsibility, leadership, and commitment to your community can be built long before you ever put your name on a ballot.

As I continue this journey toward Town Council in Ward 2, I want people to know who I am. Not just as a candidate, but as a husband, father, Navy veteran, community member, and someone who believes in showing up and doing the work.

I appreciate the honest perspective behind this article, and I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to read it.

Before the title, there’s a story. This is part of mine.

Ray Merriman and I were grateful to be invited to the Wallkill Living Center to listen to Carson Power’s presentation about the proposed battery storage facility planned next to the community.

It is important that residents especially those who will live closest to this facility receive clear information and have meaningful opportunities to ask questions and express their concerns.

Leadership begins with showing up, listening and learning. We will continue to stay informed and make sure the voices of Wallkill residents are heard as this proposal moves forward.

Toady is National Voters Registration Day. Most people assume the biggest hurdle to voting is deciding who to support. In reality, a massive number of eligible voters never make it to the ballot box because of a much simpler step: registration itself.
Confusing deadlines, state-by-state rules, and complex processes keep millions of voices from being heard every election cycle.
What is National Voter Registration Day?
The Goal: A nonpartisan civic observance created to bridge the gap between being eligible to vote and actually getting registered.
The Problem: Roughly 1 in 4 eligible Americans remain unregistered—often not from a lack of interest, but simply due to missed deadlines or unfamiliar requirements.

I fight the good fight of faith, and truth will always be my defense and my advocate.

What I love most about the Town of Wallkill is the diversity of our residents. People from every background are and always will be welcomed at my table. That is the kind of community I believe in and the kind of supervisor I will be.

My opponent appears afraid of losing the part-time position he holds while collecting full-time pay. Instead of defending his record, his campaign has resorted to division and personal attacks. That is what desperate campaigns do when they are losing the confidence of the people.

So I have one simple question for “Mr. Teacher”:

Of all the candidates in this race who have never held elected office, why were the two candidates of color the only ones portrayed sitting in a classroom as students who needed to be “schooled”?

Why us?

The residents of Wallkill deserve an honest explanation.

I will continue standing in faith, speaking the truth and fighting for a town where everyone is respected, represented and welcomed at the table.
