🛍️ Student Store Volunteers & Donations Needed

Meany students earn Meany Money for showing R.O.A.R. values (Respect, Ownership, Attitude, Responsibility, and Readiness). They can spend it at the Student Store, which will be open every other Wednesday at lunch, starting Oct 29.

Volunteers: We need 2–3 parents per shift to help run the store, keep items organized, and cheer on students as they shop.

🎁 Donate items — Help us stock the store! Favorites from last year included:

🧸 Gently used stuffies (fan favorite!)
🎲 Mini board/travel games
✨ Crocs charms
🤹 Assorted fidgets
🚗 Mini cars, skateboards, or other small toys
🍬 Candy, snack-size chocolates, anything sour
🥤 Regular & mini-size sodas
🖊️ Stationery (pens, pencils, notepads)
🧦 Fun socks & hair accessories
🎃 Holiday-themed items (Halloween/Fall, etc.)

📍 Drop donations at the main office, labeled “Student Store.”

💡 Even one donation or one shift makes a big difference for our students!

🎨 Help Stock Meany’s Art Room!
Our new art teacher, Ms. Keller, is launching a paper mâché unit later this semester, and she needs help collecting recyclable materials. Families can start saving and sending in:
📰 Newspapers
📦 Cardboard (delivery boxes, etc.)
📚 Magazines
🥛 Solid plastic recyclables (milk jugs, yogurt containers, water bottles)
🧻 Paper towel rolls
📄 Packing paper or craft paper
Drop donations off at the main office labeled “Art Class.”
Let’s turn everyday recyclables into amazing student art projects — and keep them out of the landfill at the same time. 🙌

🩺 Meany Health Center & School Nurse Update
The Meany Health Center is a no-cost clinic offering comprehensive medical, behavioral health, and dental services conveniently on-site for Meany students. Operated by Seattle Roots Community Health Center, common services include:
Vaccinations
Sports physicals
Individual counseling
Dental cleanings
👉 Students must be registered with the Health Center to receive no-cost services. Registration packets are available at the Health Center, or you can complete the online registration form.
Message from School Nurse, Maegon Williams (MSN, RN):
If you would like your student to have access to Ibuprofen or Tylenol (for headaches, menstrual cramps, etc.) during the school day, please fill out the attached Medication Authorization Form.
