Sometimes a simple moment can show us more than we expected.
On a recent trip to the aquarium, we got to see Simon, a youth with complex medical needs, show up with curiosity, energy, and joy. š
It was a reminder that:
- Capability may look different than we assume.

And for prospective parents:

Youth in foster care want agency over their own lives. We know this, because they tell us! Keeping youth engaged throughout their time in foster care is pivotal in letting them feel like they have some control, and it helps them be able to build trusting relationships with adults.
