Chat with King County Wastewater Treatment Division team employees about their work to sustain a healthy environment, job opportunities, and ongoing projects at West Point Treatment Plant.

Join Seattle Parks and Recreation for a FREE event at Carkeek Park to celebrate Earth Day! 🌎

Spend a Saturday with us for hands-on fun and learning opportunities! Volunteers will help pull weeds in the garden, work on trails in the park, pick up litter or prepare Pipers orchard for another great season of apples. You'll also have the change to check out the Salmon imprint pond to talk with volunteers and get a chance to feed a few

Earth Day Activities at Carkeek Park on April 18th - meet at the Carkeek Admin Building on your right near the entrance to the park to sign in and learn about all the areas you can volunteer. Weeding, mulching, trail work, and garbage clean up - you can also go help feed the baby salmon :-)

Upcoming program feature:
Plants without seeds? Mosses, Ferns and More at Discovery Park
Join a Seattle Park Naturalist to explore the glorious mosses, ferns and lichens that cover the forest floor and canopy of the Pacific NW forest. Take a close look and learn about how these plants reproduce by spores? This hike in Discovery Park will invite you to peer closely at the marvelous variety of mosses, liverworts, ferns (and more) that put the green in "evergreen," and learn some of their surprising secrets. We will spend a lot of time low to the ground, possibly in light rain. Feel free to bring a nature journal or your favorite hand lens.
