Migrante sa U is honored to have come together with and members last night to play two ASIN kulturals — Sa Malayong Silangan and Itanong Mo Sa Mga Bata — for ’s medical mission reportback.

The reportback showed us the devastating effects of corruption and government neglect in Pampanga, and how our communities are coming together to change our conditions. The kulturals paint a picture of the Philippines that our organizations envision, and encourage us to look to the innocence and wisdom of children to guide us there.

Another dedication to the victims of the Mindoro bombings and Chantal Anicoche.

“Tagumpay Ay Isinusulong” by .aranas is a song calling for freedom for those unseen in the countryside. It’s also a call for us to form a strong mass movement against fascist attacks on the people, and to go to the countryside and serve the people, just like Chantal.

As Migrante sa U, we assert that it is not a crime for Filipinos to return to our own motherland to learn from those who are most exploited. Even in the face of the AFP and NTF-ELCAC’s desperate efforts to quell our peoples’ just struggle against U.S imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism, we will continue to stand strong, be courageous like Chantal, and organize.

From the U.S to the Philippines, stop the terror-tagging! End the culture of impunity! Hindi Krimen Umuwi!

“Sa Malayong Silangan” by Asin pictures the world as we seek it. Free from the violence and destruction that typify the lives of Filipinos across the world — but particularly those in the countryside of the Philippines who are unheard, but are continually terrorized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

This song reflects the world that Chantal Anicoche envisions for the Mangyan-Iraya people that she left home to integrate with and learn from. Those who are constant targets of AFP strafing and bombings. She survived the bombings, illegal detention, and endured fear and uncertainty in a place she served with care and commitment. However, many have not survived such aggressions.

This is also a dedication to the children, people, and families who lost their lives in the Mindoro bombings. Para sa mga inosenteng buhay na kinitil, sa mga pamilyang naiwan, at sa mga pangarap na hindi na natupad, we sing to remember you, to grieve with you, and to say that your lives mattered.

This song is for you all.
