As we move into Memorial Day weekend, the Homeless Remembrance Project helps us remember through their vigils that people who die homeless or outside are never forgotten. Telling their stories helps make community whole again.
Gathering together on Saturdays at 9:00am for breakfast and 10:00 for singing and service help make community too.

Such a spirited gathering to celebrate our one year anniversary of the reborn Church of Mary Magdalene last week. We are ready to move forward into another year!
Longtime music leader Sari Breznau commented that this lovely space provided by St James Pastoral Outreach was the first time we’ve had windows! Mary Magdalene has most often dwelled in basements in its 35 year history. What a gift of light and hospitality!
Come join us this week at 9am for breakfast and 10am for service at 907 Columbia St. Help launch another year of care and community!

This Saturday April 18 will be extra special as we celebrate the one year anniversary of the rebirth of Church of Mary Magdalene. For one year, many women who are homeless have made breakfast church a weekly gathering place and community of support. Pastors Linda Smith, Sue Wanwig and Pat Simpson have ministered to women each Saturday. Music director Sari Breznau has been lifting spirits by bringing soulful music each week. And MANY volunteer hands have prepared and shared nourishing breakfast foods with guests. Others have supported with donations.
Thanks to a community of people, Church of Mary Magdalene is alive and continuing to live out the vision of founder Rev Jean Kim, who dreamed such a place of community for women experiencing homelessness.
Breakfast at 9am, service and singing at 907 Columbia St, with gratitude to St James Parish Outreach Center, and First United Methodist, for opening doors this year.
Keep us strong into the year ahead with your support (at link in the comments, with thanks to Columbia City Church of Hope for fiscal sponsorship).

This Saturday following Easter, join us for breakfast at 9am and service and singing at 10am, where Pastor Linda will share a message online:
When women disciples ran to tell about the empty tomb, the men thought it was "an idle tale" and didn't believe them. When something seems impossible, we want to see and understand for ourselves. Bring your curiosity, your doubts, your wonder and your hopes to worship with your sisters this Saturday. And enjoy a good breakfast, too.
All at St James Pastoral Outreach Center, 907 Columbia St, Seattle.

Holy Week, the days before Easter, is a time of waiting in the shadows of danger, loss and grief. Homeless women know those shadows well -- waiting for a meal, for a bed, for a way out, for a home. Whatever your own Way of the Cross looks like, Jesus is your companion there. New life is coming!
We will celebrate Easter early this Saturday morning April 4th, with worship at 10am and breakfast before at 9am. Come join your sisters and raise your spirits in hope.
Join us at St James Outreach Center, 907 Columbia St.
