Some good ideas from Mr. Malloy!
Becca Balint's Community Housing Act proposes $445 billion over ten years for just one housing fund.
#%**%^+!!
IT IS DANGEROUS.
It is absolutely absurd financial risk taxpayers would carry. Furthermore, It authorizes federally backed housing financing for 2027 and beyond without an expiration date. WOW!
Vermonters deserve clear answers: How much could taxpayers lose? How closely are these loans monitored?
And how many affordable homes will Vermont actually gain? My math shows it’s about 25 homes per $6,000,000.00!

“The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall continue to carry out the FHA affordable rental housing financing partnership with the Federal Financing Bank, under which such Bank provides financing for loans insured under the FHA Multifamily Risk-Sharing Program under section 542 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992 (12 U.S.C. 1707), and may enter into such new commitments under such program during fiscal year 2027 and fiscal years thereafter, subject to the overall limitations provided in this Act on new commitments to guarantee loans insured under the General and Special Risk Insurance Funds, as authorized by sections 238 and 519 of the National Housing Act.

My priority is renovating, back to beautiful, the vacant and aging homes, helping local builders, expanding training in the trades, and working with state and local leaders to reduce permitting delays.
That means housing and jobs together. NOT JUST: TAX AND SPEND, then more, TAX AND SPEND….. with no end in sight.
