During our April Drug Take Back Day event, 135 vehicles dropped off a total weight of 267.3 lbs. of medications!

That's hundreds of pounds of medications kept out of the wrong hands, off household shelves where children and pets could accidentally access them, away from older adults who may accidentally take the wrong medication, and out of our water systems.

We’re doing it all again on Saturday, October 24th! Every medication drop-off makes a difference. All medications are accepted, and there’s no judgment.

Prevention starts when we recognize where support is needed and take action to make a difference. Be a part of the impact!

We all deserve to feel safe and comfortable asking for help when we need it.

How we treat people that struggle with substance use and how we talk about them has an impact on their ability to get help.

You don’t need to know what it feels like to struggle with substance use to understand what it feels like to be in pain and need help. Many of us know how it feels to reach out for help and be met with shame or rejection. It hurts, and it can make us feel like we need to keep our pain to ourselves.

Being kind can change lives and save lives. Being unkind and contributing to a negative stigma only perpetuates the problem and isolates members of our community who need us. So choose to lead with empathy.

Life gets busy! Between hectic schedules and after school activities, it can be a challenge to find the time or energy to come together.

But The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University consistently finds that the more often children eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to drink, smoke, or use illegal drugs.

Today is Family Day -- a national effort to promote family dinners as an effective way to reduce substance use among youth. It doesn't have to be a complicated or picture-perfect dinner. Just sit together, be present, and share about your day over a meal together.
