Today is a day of remembrance for all of the lives lost, 25 years ago, on September 11th, 2001.

343 Firefighters
8 EMS Personnel
60 Law Enforcement Officers
141 Passengers and Crew on board of Flight 11 and Flight 175
184 Armed Forces, Civilian Staff, and Passengers on board Flight 77 at The Pentagon
40 Brave Passengers and Crew on board Flight 93
2,977 Total Innocent Lives Taken

As a Fire Department, it resonates personally with us the 343 Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day and answered the call, without hesitation, not knowing what they would face.

We will always remember the lives lost that day and those lives that were forever changed in the aftermath.

NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

Last night was a night of many emotions for all of us at the Spring Valley Fire Protection District. We had to say farewell to a staple of Spring Valley Fire, Scott “Scotty” Shilkuski. Scotty retired from the Spring Valley Fire Protection District as a firefighter, first responder, and our safety officer, after 35 years of proud and dedicated service. Scotty is retiring to his new home in Indiana and continuing with his passion for racing. We will all miss you very much, Scotty! We will always remember to stay hydrated and be aware of our surroundings! Enjoy your much deserved retirement!
