The Black Law Students Association, St. Louis University School of Law chapter awarded the Honorable Theodore McMillian Award to Judge Renee Hardin-Tammons, appellate judge at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District.

Prior to her appointment to the Court of Appeals, Judge Hardin-Tammons served as an associate, circuit and municipal court judge in the 21st judicial circuit. This award is an expression of gratitude for her service and dedication to the St. Louis legal community, law students and for integrity on the bench.

The award is named in honor of the Honorable Theodore McMillian.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District gathered en banc to recognize its 150th anniversary. The ceremony included speeches from leaders within the legal community and judiciary, a video message from Governor Mike Kehoe, and the national anthem sang by a local elementary school choir.

The Missouri Court of Appeals is seeking to fill two law clerk positions for incoming Judge Kathleen Hamilton to start immediately.

The successful candidate for each position should be a graduate of an accredited law school and must have excellent research and writing skills. Previous law clerk experience is a plus. Starting salary is $60,000. Excellent benefits, including health insurance, pension, vacation, and parking. Those interested should send a resume and cover letter to [email protected].
