Well I pulled the plug last night. It would take several weeks to get a recount and it isn't worth the negative impact to the Ward, the City, & my family. Well, we went to court today. Unfortunately, they could not act on our request for a recount without Christopher Kyle being adjoined. They gave us another court date for May 22 which means a recount won’t happen until the end of May. This may be over but we’ll see how this month turns out.

I am at the St Charles County Courthouse filing a suit against the St Charles County election authority to get them to do a full hand count. The court date is May 1st so I hope the city doesn’t complicate things by taking action before we know what the vote really was.  we’ll see how this works out. 

Tonight at 10 PM on KSDK channel 5 is going to do a story about the election tie. No weird questions or anything so it should be a fairly generic interview. Take a look tonight.

The recount is complete and the results were the same. The authority audited two precincts out of eight from the Ward. The hand counts were identical to the machine, which means the voting machines were accurate. The next step is to sue the election authority after they certify the results to audit every precinct in the ward. I have to get an attorney to address the judge to demand a full Ward count. I’ll keep you up-to-date on what’s going on. We can still get lucky!

The recount is on! They are auditing my ward and some others to verify the accuracy of the machines. I’ll post with results

OK, here’s what the election authority is doing. Tomorrow morning is what they call the normal recount where they count the ballots and add provisional ballots if they apply. If the losing candidate still wants a more detailed recount, they can pay for a hand count of the ballots.

Hard to believe but we lost tonight by one vote 571 to 572. Will ask for a recount and see what shakes out.
