Today is World Environment Day! Climate-friendly habits are often health-boosting habits. Here are a few things that you can do to lower your climate impact AND improve your health:

-Decrease meat consumption and increase plant-based foods. Red meat and processed meats are associated with cancer, heart disease, and dementia. Decreasing meat consumption is also one of the most impactful actions you can take to decrease your carbon footprint.

-If you're able to, choose to walk or bike instead of driving.

-Cut food waste by planning meals and only buying what you need. This will lower your environmental impact while also lessening the need to order in.

Sunscreen only works well if you apply enough! How much do you actually need?

Face: add enough to cover your index and middle fingers.
Body: apply ~1 teaspoon to each exposed arm, leg, and your front and back if exposed.

Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going outdoors. Let's stay safe in the sun this summer! 🌞😎

May is High Blood Pressure Education Month! Talk to your healthcare provider about what your blood pressure numbers mean for you. Some questions to ask are:

1. What was my blood pressure reading and what do the numbers mean for me?
2. How often should I have my blood pressure checked?
3. How can I control my blood pressure if it's high?
4. Can any medicines that I take affect my blood pressure?
